Atlas Group Incorporated prides itself on the application of a flat organizational structure, ensuring less bureaucracy and quicker response times to customer issues and queries. The company is headed by Chairman Hopeton Pessoa, Chief Executive Officer Ralston Pessoa, Managing Directors within each division and Senior Managers with direct responsibility for Guarding Operations, Electronic Security and Armoured Operations.

Our Staff includes approximately 2000 employees who fall within administrative, managerial, technical, operational and security roles. Many of our employees have the requisite Bachelor’s degrees, post graduate qualifications, international security and IT certifications.

The Company recognizes the importance of maintaining staff that are fully competent in their respective roles. We ensure inclusion of personnel from diverse backgrounds and encourage a corporate culture that is conducive to team work while facilitating upward mobility within the organization.

We are very thorough in our hiring process. We utilize polygraph testing carried out by certified examiners and employ rigorous background checks to screen all applicants. With these systems in place employee turnover remains low and a consistently high level of service is consistently provided.

Security Accreditation Programmes

Atlas Protection Group emphasizes the need for advanced education, experience and training. We ensure that all staff members maintain a level of expertise and accreditation that amplifies their ability to protect and serve responsibly in the interest of our clients.

Our security officers are fully trained and ready to apply their skills in real world situations and have achieved full accreditation and certification at the national level. Our main managers and supervisors have all completed the Physical Security Professional Examination. This internationally accredited assessment is conducted through a joint venture with the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) International, a world-renowned security certification organization.

Atlas Protection Limited was founded in 1977 by Mr. Hopeton Pessoa and was officially incorporated on March 22, 1980. In 1991 the company expanded to include Atlas Protection Ltd. (Ocho Rios) to better serve its North Coast Clientele. Further expansion would take place quickly over this period which saw an exponential increase in the company’s client base to more than 300 private, commercial and blue-chip customers. The Security Firm is currently the second largest in Jamaica and presently employs over 2000 employees and contractors. Atlas, has the distinction of providing security services across all the island’s 14 parishes.

The application of technology has always been a signature of the Atlas Group. We were the first security company to equip our security guards with portable VHF/ UHF radios, the first to introduce Silver-Guard and computerized monitoring systems and also the first to apply polygraph examinations to screen potential job applicants.

In 2005 the Atlas Group received the HEART/NTA award for Exceptional Customer Service and  maintains a team of highly skilled Port Facility Security Officers who are certified to train persons in the International, Shipping and Port Security (ISPS) Code. *Other awards to come.

The company remains committed to its customers and to its mission of giving back to the local community. We currently provide sponsorship support to the Best Care Lodge Children’s Home, The United Way of Jamaica, The Shaggy and Friends Foundation and Capoeira Alafia, a Community Based Organisation (CBO) with a focus on vulnerable/ marginalized youth.
